Corn Cake

Maybe not many understand about the term corn cake. Corn cakes are not the same as bakwan corn but the corn cake is really soft on the tongue and you can make some variations into it. However, this corn cake recipe is a basic recipe that not much variation is added to it. It feels soft and addictive enough. Lets go try at home!


  • ½ cup versatile flour
  • 1 cup yellow corn flour pounded roughly
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 egg
  • ¾ teaspoon of baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon pepper powder
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter freshened and cooled
  • A little butter for the spread
  • 1 cup of milk butter
  • ¼ cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 cup grated coarse cheese
  • 1 cup of frozen corn chopped roughly and melted
  • ¼ cup of cut red pepper washed and dried

How To Make:

  1. Beat cornmeal, versatile flour, salt, baking soda, pepper powder, and sugar.
  2. In a different bowl, shake 2 tablespoons butter, eggs, and also milk butter. Add corn, onions, pepper, and grated cheese. Stir until everything is well blended.
  3. Heat the skillet with high enough heat to heat, rub it with extra butter. Pour batter in ¼ cup to pan.
  4. Cook for 3 minutes on each side until the color turns golden. Drain.

Can add honey for a more sweet and fragrant taste.
If you want a thin dough like crepe or pancake, then you can add butter to milk and a little water into the dough before cooking it.
If you want a spicy flavor, adding chili is not a problem either.
